MAPPING FESTIVAL

Tout Bleu x Z1 Studio | concert immersif - Kultur und Spektakel

The music band Tout Bleu and Z1 Studio, both from Geneva, joined forces in 2021 to create a 360° video for the band's new album, Otium. They will play together at the Mapping Festival in the Syllepse device during an exceptional immersive concert.   Tout Bleu's second album, Otium evokes an ambulation on crossed paths between electronic and acoustic. This new milestone in Simone Aubert's (Massicot, Hyperculte) musical perimeter is a form of fertile deceleration for the Geneva-based multi-instrumentalist. Initiated as a solo project in 2018, the formation becomes a matrix of exploration for the musicians gathered on Otium: Naomi Mabanda on cello (Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp, Chien Mon Ami) and Luciano Turella on viola (Irtum Branda) cross the machines and samples of POL, already at the helm on the first eponymous album Tout Bleu. We find the sometimes melodic, sometimes abrasive riffs of Massicot, and the songs and the pulsed engagement of Hyperculte, but in Tout Bleu, the acoustic instruments, the voice and the electric guitar, diverted from their usual use, draw an orchestrated landscape with an almost pop luster, where the polyrhythms of the strings intermingle on low tempo beats.   "Otiosi" is a visual retranscription of the Otium project by Z1 Studio. It is an immersive journey into a wild, natural and phantasmagorical universe that directly echoes the original audio project. During a residency in July 2021, we collected data in forests, caves and grassy areas using telemetry techniques. After several months of processing this data, we were able to develop an immersive walk through a new parallel reality.   Duration: approx. 45 min.
