Highlands is the fourth show in a long-standing project in which Pep Ramis and María Muñoz’s unclassifiable Spanish company Mal Pelo explore Bach’s work, recreating its landscapes, its shadows and its sparkles. Sixteen male and female dancers, four singers and four string players bring the composer’s works to life through dance and theatre in which light, darkness, elegance and brutality rule. György Kurtag, Henry Purcell and other composers turn up to guide the dancers, lights and swarming spaces in search of a place free of all mundanities, where spirituality flourishes. The passion for the sacred animates these highlands.  Co-produced with Château Rouge
