Clara - Theatre and performing arts

Clara appears before us to tell us about her life, her passion for music and the events for which she is still judged today: her absence for more than two and a half years during the internment of her husband Robert Schumann, the lawsuit against her father to emancipate herself, and her relationship with Johannes Brahms. Here, she doesn't sing or play the piano, but the music is omnipresent. Robert's, Johannes', but also her own, Clara Wieck signed Schumann, one of the greatest pianists of the nineteenth century. It is among these confidences, in the course of her exchanges with the piano and her singing, that the story of her life as a wife, mother and pianist unfolds before our eyes. A necessary emotional journey, both powerful and tender, from which no one will emerge unscathed.   Running time: 1 hour 30 minutes, no intermission   DISTRIBUTION Annie Dutoit-Argerich, Clara Sam McElroy, baritone Eduardo Delgado, piano   Betty Gambartes & Diego Vila, authors Betty Gambartes, director
