FC BERGMAN - The Sheep Song (Relations extérieures au Toneelhuis) - Festivals

An animal fable inspired by the 16th century Valenciennes Mystery, The Sheep Song features a sheep in search of meaning and perfection. In order to find answers to questions about himself and his life, he leaves the flock, gregariousness, innocence and nature, and goes astray. In this story in images, FC Bergman cuts a path as tortuous in the world as it is direct to the emotions. In the centre of a stage crossed by a conveyor belt, the half-sheep half-man sees the characters of his dream life pass by in colour: a blind woman, a puppeteer, a foetus, an indifferent crowd and a matador constitute the tableaux of this melancholy journey driven by a formidable acting performance. The Sheep Song is a contemporary piece of meditation on what it means to be human today. Deeply human.
