Beschreibung

Two speakers, two perspectives, one question: what is social media actually doing to us?   Every feed you scroll has been shaped by decisions someone made — about what surfaces, what disappears, and what you never see at all. POP 02 brings together a computer scientist and a communication strategist to look at those decisions from both sides: how the systems work, and what they do to us.   Who sees what: How social media design choices shape work, opinion, and culture Stefania Ionescu — postdoctoral researcher, ETH Zurich Stefania studies how recommendation, moderation and filtering tools shape society. She completed her PhD at the University of Zurich summa cum laude and received the 2025 FAN Award for outstanding scientific achievement in Law and Economics. She has worked with Graze Social comparing feeds on Bluesky to understand what happens when a platform hands curation to an algorithm.   Is social media making us anti-social? Sophia Kramer — CEO and co-founder, Smove AI Sophia is a trained designer with ten years in creative and strategy roles, building communication platforms for Audemars Piguet, FC Bayern, BMW, Burger King and Coop. She was named 30u30 Swiss Communication and is a Cannes Young Lion medalist. She now runs Smove AI, building AI agents for social media teams.   No jargon, no academic distance. Come with questions.   Doors 19:00 · Talks 19:30 · Amboss Rampe, Zollstrasse 80, 8005 Zürich   Full speaker profiles and event details at www.popimpactlab.com
