Negotiation Workshop, LausanneThursday, 15 October 2026          Join your fellow alumni for an innovative and interactive negotiation workshop.Drawing on more than two decades of experience in negotiations in high stakes crisis situations including kidnapping, hostage-taking etc., the workshop host Matthias Herter will share practical principles that can strengthen everyday life, leadership, and resilience. He will share unique insights and provide answers to questions like: What helps when the most crucial issues – such as human lives – are at risk in crisis negotiations? How do professional teams dedicated to saving lives work? What can we learn from real-life experiences in extreme circumstances for modern leadership, high-stakes decision-making, negotiations in the corporate world, or when facing the depths of a crisis? The workshop also draws on his newly published book When Words Save Lives, building a bridge to easily applicable lessons that will encourage participants to improve their negotiation skills and overcome life’s challenges through hope, constructive dialogue and the power of words.The workshop is hosted in and will be followed by an apero in a unique venue – a wine cellar in the center of Lausanne which showcases the best of the wines of the region.
