Dark Matter - immersive short films - Cinema

"Dark Matter" is a series of three 360° short films, lasting a total of 30 minutes. "Matière Première" and "Cosmonautica" offer unique immersive journeys, exploring respectively the depths of matter through 3D selfies and cosmic mysteries with live images. "Spasm" is a creation by artist Bordos specially conceived for the XXth edition of the Mapping Festival. > The "Matière première" project, by Canadian Yann Breuleux-Ouellette, uses selfies captured in 3D to create virtual, printed, animated and virtual reality (VR) environments. It was born during the confinement periods of the pandemic, evolving from a simple apprenticeship in 3D capture technologies to a full-fledged artistic approach. The title "Matière première" refers to experimentation with raw, unaltered captures, highlighting occlusion accidents for their expressive potential. > "Cosmonautica", by Julia Set Lab (Sandro Bocci, Italy) is an experimental short that takes the viewer on a hypnotic journey through the inner and outer cosmos, presenting abstract textures, galaxies, stars, nebulae, white and black holes, stimulating the effect of pareidolia. > "Spasm" is an immersive short film, developed especially for Mapping Festival 2024 by renowned Hungarian audiovisual artist Laszlo Bordos.
