Description

Leonardo García Alarcón presents a programme of the most beautiful monodies by Sigismondo d'India, musical cousin of Claudio Monteverdi and undisputed master of the genre. The expressive power of his music makes him one of the greatest musical personalities of his time. Enhanced by the voices of Mariana Flores and Gwendoline Blondeel, around which the musicians of Cappella Mediterranea weave a loving and audacious tapestry attesting to a perfect alchemy, this peregrination through melodies that are in turn dramatic, refined, dancing or charming, constitutes a moment of timeless grace.   PROGRAMME Works by Sigismondo d'India   DISTRIBUTION Mariana Flores, soprano Gwendoline Blondeel, soprano   Mónica Pustilnik, lute Quito Gato, theorbo Marina Bonetti, harp Margaux Blanchard, viola da gamba Leonardo García Alarcón, conductor, organ and harpsichord   In cooperation with Cappella Mediterranea, ensemble in residence at La Cité Bleue.
