Judeo-Arab-Andalusian music covers a field where a Jewish cultural identity is expressed, through songs and music performed within territories in which the dominant civilization is Arab-Spanish (Spain) or Arab-Berber (Maghreb).Despite the status of dhimmis applied according to Islamic law, the Jewish and Muslim communities - different in the practice of their religious faith - found themselves in symbiosis in cultural and artistic events, conveyed exclusively by the Arabic and Berber dialects on the occasion of public and private festivals, or during pilgrimages in homage to saints venerated by both Jews and Muslims.It is this very music and songs that the group "Al-Andalûs" under the direction of Rachid Brahim-Djelloul with Suzanne Ben Zakoun will perform for us during this unique concert.
