INTO THE WINDS Adrien REBOISSON shawm, bombards, recorders Marion LE MOAL shawm, bombards, recorders Valentin BRUCHON bagpipes, flutes Rémi LÉCORCHÉ busine, slide trumpet, sackbut, recorders Laurent SAURON percussion   Works by Guillaume DE MACHAUT (c. 1300–1377), Guillaume DUFAY (c. 1397–1474), Josquin DES PRÉS (c. 1450–1521), troubadour songs and others. Texts by Christine DE PIZAN (c. 1364–c. 1430), Jean FROISSARD (c. 1337–c. 1405), Jeanne D’ARC (1412–1431), Jean DUBOIS (c. 1350–after 1392) and others.   This programme invites the audience to immerse itself into the musical environment that shaped Europe from the late Middle Ages to the early Renaissance. Thanks to the colourful sounds of wind instruments and percussions, we move from the hypnotic melodies of early motets to the joyful songs of troubadours and from knights’ tournaments to the bands of castle balls. Meanwhile, in the alcoves of palaces, shawms and slide trumpets gradually give way to gentle recorders humming subtle polyphonies inspired by popular themes.
