Description
With Sortilèges d’Amour, soprano Mariana Flores draws us into a fascinating theatre of passions, where love takes the form, in turn, of intoxication, turmoil, abandonment, defiance, lament or a game of seduction. Conceived as a true dramatic journey, this programme weaves a delicate thread between madrigals, court arias, opera scenes and instrumental pieces, set against the backdrop of 17th-century Italy. Surrounded by an ensemble of exceptional instrumentalists, Mariana Flores brings to life a whole world of emotions and transformations, where the voices of desire unfold with striking freedom, intensity and expressiveness. From Monteverdi to Cavalli, from Frescobaldi to Sances, via Marazzoli, Mazzocchi, Bertalli and Zamponi, this concert explores a repertoire in which the music closely mirrors the movements of the soul. Love appears here in all its forms: tender or cruel, refined or imperious, light-hearted or devastating. Heroines and figures of servants, the voices of desire and those of disillusionment, the seductions of the theatre and the wounds of the intimate compose an emotional landscape of rare richness. Through famous and lesser-known pieces, Sortilèges d’Amour showcases the expressive modernity of the early Baroque, when music becomes the language of the heart, the breath of drama and the art of enchantment. Carried by the magnetic presence of Mariana Flores, an artist deeply connected to the world of this repertoire, this evening promises a moment of great intensity, at once intimate, theatrical and profoundly alive. A concert in which the singing, supported by the delicacy of the bassoon, flutes, viola da gamba, cello, harp, lute and harpsichord, brings to life the evocative power of an art form dedicated to moving, surprising and captivating.
