The Noce Yiddish project is a direct extension of the exploration begun by the ensemble ‘Le Petit Mish-Mash’, formed in 2017 by Marine Goldwaser and her musician friends of Moldavian and Romanian Gypsy origin.Inspired by several trips and collaborations with artists from the New York klezmer scene since 2018, a broader vision of what a klezmer ensemble could be gradually developed... giving birth to the Goldwaser Klezmer Ensemble.Under the expert guidance of clarinettist Marine Goldwaser, the 6 artists offer a show full of twists and turns, alternating between exhuberance and intimacy, to bring the audience an intense experience of Yiddish culture transmitted through music.Research into the sound archives of the early 20th century, as well as the abundant literature of Mitteleuropa, has brought to light a traditional Yiddish wedding - albeit an imaginary one - where music, food and bon mots battle it out from morning till night.
