Description
Claire Eliot presents a her conference on FUNCTIONAL DESIGN AND HACKING : Soft Electronic Components for Designing Textile Interfaces This talk explores the integration of soft electronic components into textiles as a new form of interactive interface, at the intersection of design, materials, and human-computer interaction. It examines how fabric, enhanced with sensors and flexible circuits, becomes a sensitive surface capable of translating gestures and bodily uses into data. Through a functional design approach, the aim is to reconcile technical constraints, ergonomics, and durability. At the same time, DIY-driven practices of technological hijacking open up experimental and critical perspectives on these systems. Between scientific rigor and creative exploration, electronic textiles emerge as a fertile ground for rethinking our modes of interaction with the digital world.
