Description
Franco Gamarra, president of the Act of Responsibility association and environmental engineer committed to preserving the Amazon, will explore the art and ancestral heritage of the Shipibo-Konibo people of the Amazon in this conference. This event will invite you to discover the living traditions of this people, their cosmovision, and the contemporary challenges that affect them. The conference will include a screening of the documentary “Raomis Ainbo”, a visual journey through the history and expertise of the Shipibo-Konibo people. After spending time with this community, where he collaborated with a collective of women artisans, Franco Gamarra published a photographic book dedicated to the ancestral Kené motifs, symbols of the cosmogony and daily life of this people, created by a collective of 30 Shipibo-Konibo artisans, which will be presented at this event. The conference will be followed by a reception and sale of the photographic book Kené, in support of Shipibo-Konibo community projects.
