Description

The FAANG (Federation of Afrodescendant Associations of Geneva) is organizing the first Afrodescendant Health Day in Geneva, on Saturday 26 September 2026, at the Palladium community hall. This free event, open to everyone, offers health guidance, orientation and screenings provided by volunteer health professionals, in partnership with Geneva's university Hospitals (HUG). It responds to the documented reality that, in Geneva, Afrodescendant people often access healthcare late, due to a lack of trust and proximity with the health system. The program includes a morning fitness session, talks (laughter as a health booster, Afrodescendant nutrition), traditional medicine and wellbeing workshops, as well as community stands and a food area. Free entry. Some workshops require registration, limited spots.
