Description
The Long View: Investing, Leadership, and Giving BackWednesday, 22 April 2026Investors search for a recipe for success, yet every investment teaches its own lessons. Over time, markets reward discipline, resilience, and the ability to learn and adapt. Few investors have demonstrated these qualities as consistently as Jorge Paulo Lemann, a Swiss-Brazilian investor and entrepreneur who, together with his long time partners, has built some of the world’s most successful consumer companies and remains actively engaged in business while also promoting education and philanthropy. In conversation with Martin Spirig (MBA’06J) and the INSEAD community, he will reflect on the successes and lessons from building businesses, leading organizations, and giving back — and engage directly with questions and perspectives from the audience. Speaker Jorge Paulo Lemann, in partnership with his close business partners, built and developed some of the world’s most successful consumer companies. He led the consolidation of the global beer industry, starting with Brahma in Brazil and building it through successive mergers and acquisitions into AB InBev, the world’s largest brewer, with brands including Corona, Stella Artois, Beck’s, Franziskaner, and Budweiser. Through 3G Capital, he later developed global consumer platforms including Kraft Heinz and Restaurant Brands International, the parent company of Burger King, Tim Hortons, and Popeyes. Earlier in life, he was a surfer and both a Swiss and Brazilian national tennis champion who competed at Wimbledon. Through the Lemann Foundation, he promotes education and leadership development, with a particular focus on Brazil, including partnerships with institutions such as the University of St. Gallen, the creation of a research center at the University of Zurich focused on development economics and public policy, and engagements with leading universities worldwide.
