After several concerts in Cully over the last decade, including a duo performance in 2016 and a trio in 2019 at the Chapiteau, pianist Yaron Herman will present his latest solo project at the Temple, titled Alma. Through a stripped-down form, the composer embarked on an internal journey and sought to explore everything improvisation could offer to musical creation. The result is an album recorded with minimal preparation, adorned with free improvisations, spontaneous classical themes, deconstructed standards, and traditional pieces. The real-time discovery of a story unfolding before our eyes, following an invisible narrative, as he aimed to "always leave the door open to let in what must come."
