Description

To close this year's edition, the Janoska Ensemble presents a festive concert combining classical traditions and improvisational freedom.   Closing concert - "Extravaganza" To close this year's edition, Rencontres Musicales de Champéry invites the Janoska Ensemble, an unclassifiable virtuoso group renowned for its art of dialogue between classical traditions and improvisational freedom. This festive concert offers a joyful and contrasting musical journey, at the crossroads of styles and eras. From the Viennese refinement of Johann Strauss II to the popular élan of Johannes Brahms' Hungarian dances, via Johann Sebastian Bach, Georges Bizet and Dave Brubeck, the program brings together classical repertoire, jazz and popular music with disconcerting ease. Original works and paraphrases by František Janoska, inspired in particular by Beethoven, Strauss and Bizet, rub shoulders with emblematic pages such as Blue Rondo à la Turk or Yesterday by Paul McCartney and John Lennon. A concert under the banner of virtuosity, shared pleasure and joie de vivre, for a closing in panache!   Musicians : Janoska Ensemble: - Ondrej Janoska, violin - Roman Janoska, violin - František Janoska, piano - Julius Darvas, double bass     Program : - Johann Strauss II – Die Fledermaus Overture à la Janoska - František Janoska – Souvenir pour Élise (based on Beethoven’s “Für Elise”) - František Janoska – Leo’s Dance - Johann Sebastian Bach – Air (from Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major) - Georges Bizet / Franz Waxman – Carmen Fantasie - Intermission - Johannes Brahms – Hungarian Dance No. 1 - František Janoska – Paraphrase after Johann Strauss: The Blue Danube Waltz - Dave Brubeck – Blue Rondo à la Turk - Paul McCartney & John Lennon – Yesterday - Johann Sebastian Bach – III.
