Elargis tes Horizons Genève
Dive into the world of civil engineering!Discover the many facets of this exciting profession through hands-on activities in the materials and structures testing laboratory (LEMS) at the Haute École du paysage, d'ingénierie et d'architecture de Genève (HEPIA). On the agenda: brick explosion, candle holder crafting, rescuing a village from flooding, and an introduction to earthquake-resistant structures. You’ll also attend a presentation on the three main branches of civil engineering, to better understand the career opportunities available after these studies. This workshop also aims to encourage girls to consider a career in a field that is still too often male-dominated. IMPORTANT: MEETING TIME: 13H50Meeting point: At the main entrance of HEPIA, 4 rue de la Prairie, Geneva. Depending on available space, some parents may be able to accompany the girls. This will be decided on site. This activity is organised by Elargis tes Horizons (ETH). As a not-for-profit association, we are dedicated to providing girls with experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Around 10 times a year, we offer scientific activities or visits in the Geneva region. They are usually held on Wednesday afternoons and are open to girls aged between 10 and 18.
