Griffon Vulture and Whinchat Watching - Miscellaneous

From the whimsical Whinchat to the great Griffon Vulture, this guided outing is for the birds! The Griffon Vulture is a large species of buzzard which spends the summer in the Prealps. The Whinchat is a small migratory songbird that nests in our alpine meadows and that is currently endangered due to habitat loss. On today's hike, we will take the cable car up to Planachaux, then walk through the pastures in search of these two species so emblematic of the Illiez Valley. Along the way, we are also likely to observe other local species such as Water Pipits or Golden Eagles. Required equipment:Walking shoes, sunscreen, cap and weather-appropriate clothing. Please carry at least 1L of water and a snack in case you get hungry. Binoculars are strongly recommended.Easy walking (distance 3.5 km; elevation: 173.50 m.), but not suitable for people with reduced mobility. To access the Croix de Culet :- From Champéry: departure with the cable carThe cable-car ticket is not included in the price of the activity. Animation maintained from 2 participants.Reservations until 5 p.m. the day before.
