Symposium on Evolutionnary Psychiatry - Conferenze

Evolutionary psychiatry is inspired by insights and concepts from evolutionary theory and ethology to address enduring questions such as why rather than how psychiatric disorders come along or why severe and harmful psychiatric diseases remain so common in our societies. The aim of the Symposium is to present evolutionary insights by renowned speakers and to exchange with them on how the human mind has been forged over evolutionary times and evoke links with current psychopathology. We wish to raise awareness among interested attendees about the evolutionary perspective on psychopathology. The afternoon will gather prominent European representatives in the fields of evolutionary psychiatry and palaeontology.Programme 13:30 IntroductionPr Armin von Gunten 13:45 The Evobiopsychosocial ModelDr Riadh Abed 14:30 Evolution of the social brainPr Martin Brüne 15:15 Break 15:45 Evolutionary psychotraumatologyPr Alfonso Troisi 16:30 Evolution of aging and neurodegenerationPr Emiliano Bruner 17:15 Round table discussion 18:00 The round table will be followed by a cocktail
