IMPORTANT: This is an in-person (not online) workshop.  Nowadays, our virtual and real lives are almost completely interconnected. The boundaries between virtual and real, online and offline, and genders became blurry. Meanwhile, artificial intelligence is furiously entering the chat. In the presence of dominant ideologies, often so, new technologies and services do not really serve those in need, rather extending the range of exploitative practices. How can we fight against those practices and initiate social changes?In this workshop, we will aim to playfully reach beyond big tech’s algorithmic imaginaries to ones that align with ideologies of agency and care. Through participatory approach we explore problems that women and marginalised groups face nowadays within digital environments. The goal is to generate ideas for a liveable future while utilizing technology in ways that promote ethical, equitable and compassionate outcomes.The workshop is intended for curious people of various genders, backgrounds, and industries. Prior knowledge of AI is not necessary - in fact, not having it may serve as an advantage. --   Dominika Čupková is an interdisciplinary designer connecting the dots between AI, art, design and tech with an experience in PR, marketing and research. She is a doctoral student at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, where she explores what happens at the intersection of AI and design. She is also a part of the global community AIxDESIGN, where she leads the communications, and she co-founded Ladies, Wine & Design Slovakia initiative.
