Description

The Let's Doc! festival, an initiative of Ciné-Doc, returns for its fourth edition! Each year, Let's Doc dedicates a month to discovering the richness and diversity of Swiss and international documentary cinema through screenings and encounters with filmmakers and guests, focusing on current social issues.  Directed by Anka Schmid, MELODIE explores the fascinating power of singing and the interplay between song and emotion: a celebration of the joy of living. Let's sing!  People from diverse backgrounds sing, alone or together. Beyond life's ups and downs, singing brings a sense of strength, happiness and comfort; it touches our souls and awakens our memories. From a Ticinese rapper to a family of Kurdish refugees, from a premature baby to people living with dementia, singing fosters an atmosphere of trust and well-being. Singing in a group requires listening and attuning oneself to others. This holds true for football fans, the mixed choir GoAndSing, the traditional men's choir of Thurgau and the sisters of the Fahr convent, as well as for the protest songs sung at the women's strike.
