We are pleased to invite you to an evening of exceptional piano music in Geneva. The program begins with Johann Sebastian Bach’s Prelude and Fugue BWV 868. This is followed by a selection of masterpieces by Frédéric Chopin, including his Scherzo Op.31, Sonata Op.35, and Andante Spianato et Grande Polonaise Op.22. The recital concludes with Robert Schumann’s Fantasie Op.17, a work of profound emotional depth and one of my personal favorites. Join us for a captivating journey through the Baroque and Romantic eras, showcasing both technical brilliance and expressive interpretation. Xiaomu Yuan – Pianist (Click to view concert excerpt.) Xiaomu Yuan is an accomplished pianist renowned for her extensive and diverse background in piano performance. Her musical journey spans three continents, beginning in China and progressing through the United States and Europe. She began her training in China and later honed her craft at the Colburn School in Los Angeles. Her education culminated in Switzerland at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste and the Musik Akademie Basel, where she earned a Master of Arts in Specialized Musical Performance.Xiaomu has graced some of the world's most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Victoria Hall in Geneva, the Musik Akademie Basel, the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, and the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. Winning first prize at the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition, she has showcased exceptional talent and dedication. Her vast repertoire, spanning from Baroque masterpieces to contemporary compositions, highlights her versatility and deep understanding of diverse musical styles.Her international experience and multifaceted training have shaped her into a captivating artist who continues to enchant audiences around the globe with her performances.
