10yo of Bongoe Joe records - Alabaster Deplume + Yalla Miku - Concerts

It’s already been 10 years since Bongo Joe Records began breaking down borders and blurring genre lines, unearthing hidden musical gems that ring out like heartfelt cries for freedom. This special evening at Point Favre celebrates a decade of bold exploration and sonic discovery with none other than Alabaster DePlume and Yalla Miku. The London-based saxophonist, singer, activist and poet Alabaster DePlume has a rare gift for holding audiences spellbound. There’s a deep sense of warmth and solace in his rich, embracing and quietly powerful music. And that’s no accident: his latest album, A Blade Because A Blade is Whole, is a dedication to healing. His deep, soothing voice calms the soul, while the controlled vibrato of his saxophone fills the air with a hypnotic blend of folk and jazz. A pulsing bassline and steady rhythms give his sound a tactile, almost physical depth, while occasional piano notes pierce through elegant string arrangements. DePlume invites us on an introspective journey, down forest paths where shards of blinding light break through the trees, balancing fragility with fierce resolve. A vibrant embodiment of Bongo Joe’s punk and intercultural spirit, Yalla Miku tears down musical boundaries with a thrilling mix of African, Middle Eastern and European influences. Melding traditional sounds with both electronic and acoustic textures, Yalla Miku leads us to a crossroad of cultures, venturing into sonic territories still largely uncharted.   Hosted in collaboration with Bongo Joe's records, with the support of the commune of Chêne-Bourg
