« BANDE DE HAUTBOIS ! » Ensemble LEVIATHAN Lucile TESSIER taille de hautbois (alto oboe) and artistic direction Antoine TORUNCZYK Baroque oboe Clara ESPINOSA Baroque oboe Alejandro PEREZ MARIN Baroque bassoon Lionel TESSIER percussion Works by Colasse, Paisible and Purcell. Lucile Tessier and her Ensemble Leviathan focus the spotlight on the precious Paisible Manuscript. Preserved at the British Library, this collection contains principally English music, the majority of which was written for the stage by Purcell (excerpts from the Fairy Queen, Dioclesian, Indian Queen, King Arthur, etc.). This manuscript was most likely dedicated to an oboe band, that is, an ensemble of oboe, bassoon and taille de hautbois (alto oboe). Pieces by Paisible, Tollett and other lesser-known composers make up the collection, which also includes a French suite from Pascal Collasse's opera Enée et Lavinie.
