Description
Èchraq – Mystical Music from Iran The Iranian group Èchraq, founded in 2015, shares on stage the musical and spiritual heritage of mystical Iran. They have already performed in Iran, Turkey, Tunisia, France, and Germany. At the heart of their creation resonates the Tanbûr, a sacred instrument over 4,000 years old, whose sound still carries the stories, prayers, and wisdom of ancient Persia. Around it, other traditional instruments—such as the Daf, a pulse evoking the heartbeat—interact, and more recently, the dulcimer and guitar have joined to create sounds capable of touching all generations. The poems of Rumi, Hafez, Attar, Khayyâm, and the texts of the group’s director nourish this music, which tells of the spiritual quest, the mysteries of the cosmos, and the memory of the ancients. On stage, the movements of Saama, inspired by the prayers of predecessors, become a rotating dance in which the soul seems to rise beyond the body. Èchraq comes from the East, “where the sun rises,” inviting the audience on an inner journey: to hear the silence within, be guided by the vibrations of prehistoric instruments, and feel the unity of earth, sky, and humanity. In this prayer-dance, each rotation dissolves a little of the ego and opens a space of clarity, transformation, and connection to the sacred. Doors open: 7:30 PM Concert: 8:00 PM Parking: Nearby communal lot (Le Boléron)
