Félicien Lia may still be young, but it feels like he’s lived a thousand lives already. Singer, songwriter, guitarist, poet, actor, producer – the list goes on for this restless spirit who grew up near the Café du Soleil in Saignelégier, in the Jura. There, he rubbed shoulders with painters, anarchists, poets of all kinds and visiting American jazz musicians – no labels, just encounters. Never one to stand still, Lia dives headfirst into new projects, carrying with him the grit of blues, the elegance of jazz, and a few crates of irresistible groove. Over time, he’s shaped a subtle and mesmerising sound that shifts between warped pop, psychedelic rock and garage blues. Add to that some inspired basslines and lyrics that blend mountaintop poetry with urban energy, and you’ve got the unique musical brew he distils. At Théâtre de l’Orangerie, Lia presents his new EP Tout Bien Tout Triste, along with his inner volcanoes – joined by extra musicians to turn his trio into a quintet and make this concert a one-of-a-kind experience.
