Description

A new wind is blowing through Yiddish song! The Marx Sisters are reviving this language of the Jewish communities of Central Europe (Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia, etc.), drawing on the vast repertoire of songs that flourished until the last century. Distant relatives of the Marx Brothers and spiritual granddaughters of the Barry Sisters, Judith and Leah form a vocal duo with finely crafted arrangements. Supported by their collaborators Benjamin Chabert (banjo, guitar, double bass), Charles Rappoport (violin) and Raphaël Setty (accordion), the Marx Sisters embrace the Yiddish language and celebrate it by performing traditional songs as well as more recent pieces.
