In 1979, Gian Piero Reverberi has the splendid idea of founding a chamber ensemble being capable of appealing to the public due to particular compositions. Those modern compositions born by his brillance all have a common denominator : they are written following the technique « Rondò », characteristic of the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century. « Rondò Veneziano » is born. From now on the singular group, conducted by the composer and pianist Gian Piero Reverberi and formed of 9 soloists, wearing original costumes and wigs from the 18th century, as well as of 20 accompanists who are to complete the orchestra-like sound, perfors at renowned theatres and concert halls. Despite of that, the ensemble is well-known as a band of only 9 solists (7 women and 2 men) because of many performances on TV and in special occasions.
