CONFERENCE : BERNARD BLISTÈNE - Conferences

Bernard Blistène is Honorary Director of the Musée national d’art moderne-Centre Pompidou. He will be inviting friends and family to a series of conferences to discuss artistic creation and personal anecdotes and stories March 21, 2025"MY FRIEND JEFF KOONS" Bernard Blistène met Jeff Koons, American artist and sculptor known for his iconic Balloon Dogs, during the exhibition Les Courtiers du désir, held at the Centre Pompidou in 1987. They then met up again at the home of Giancarlo Politi, publisher of the Flash Art magazine, which dedicated its cover and a landmark interview to him. Numerous trips to New York allowed Bernard Blistène to try to understand the personality and work of one of the most singular and enigmatic artists. Years pass, and finally, they collaborated on his retrospective at the Centre Pompidou, between November 2014 and April 2015. December 18, 2025"MY FRIEND GEORG BASELITZ" Bernard Blistène and Georg Baselitz, a German painter, sculptor, and printmaker, crossed paths many times before a deep friendship developed during the major retrospective dedicated to Baselitz at the Centre Pompidou from October, 2021, to March, 2022, curated by Bernard Blistène. Their numerous conversations about his works and his passions for Mannerism and African art allowed the curator to discover the depth of one of the most fascinating and cultured artists of his time.
