Description
Come and discover the SMEM's collection of electronic musical instruments. Located in a warehouse at BlueFactory, this unique collection includes more than 5,000 items that have marked the history of musical instruments. During this one-hour tour, a guide will reveal the history of the instruments that shaped the sound of music in the second half of the 20th century. You will see instruments that have been forgotten by history, others that have become inaccessible, and a host of incredible inventions. If words like synthesis, analog, or tape effects don't mean anything to you, don't worry, this guided tour is intended for a wide audience and is suitable for all ages. If, on the other hand, synthesizers hold no secrets for you, the smem collection will surprise you. You will also have the opportunity to hear the unique sounds of certain instruments. Discover the history of the collection, the collector Klemens Trenkle, and the smem's future projects during this special one-hour tour. The smem offers tours in English, German, and French. Our team of guides will show you around this huge collection! The smem's storage facility is a well-kept secret. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the start of the tour. Meet in the Playroom.
