Description

Colline de Pierre is the title of the first album Laure Betris released under her own name, after numerous collective projects (Berceuses, Horizon liquide, HEX) or under pseudonyms Pier and Kassette. It is also the name of the town where her father was born, in northern north Iraq, Tel Keppe in Chaldean. She explores her paternal language, on the brink of extinction, as well as French, her mother's language. This memory quest is in line with the artist's career, resembling a constant effort to extract music from the confines of genres. Before being recorded, this repertoire first developed in concerts: in an intimate and immersive solo, then in an explosive duo with drummer, percussionist, and singer Yann Hunziker.
