Description
Saturday, May 16, at the Henosis Cultural Center in Romainmôtier, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM Özgür Baba is a Turkish musician renowned for his singular approach to the saz. He plays the çura saz, a short-necked version of this traditional instrument, and over the years has developed a personal method focused on listening, simplicity, and the pursuit of calm and silence in music. During this exceptional day, you will have the opportunity to learn directly from him. Özgür will lead a program he has specially designed to convey the foundations of his approach: mastering micro-intervals, exploring the arpeggios and ornaments unique to the Anatolian tradition, and discovering his distinctive way of layering vocals over instrumental playing. This workshop is a rare opportunity to enter Özgür Baba’s musical universe, explore modes and sounds from afar, and experience an authentic moment of musical transmission. All of this takes place in an inspiring green setting, perfect for listening and sharing music.
