Description
Cuban artist José Bedia, featured in the exhibition, will be back at Fondation Opale for an artist talk on the occasion of the closing of NOTHING TOO BEAUTIFUL FOR THE GODS. José Bedia was born in Havana and studied fine art at the prestigious San Alejandro Academy. From Florida to Peru, Mexico and Spain, his works are exhibited all over the world and currently at the Lens Art Center, where he created an in situ artwork. The artist will share his personal influences and motivations, presenting his « field work » approach, illustrated with examples from his artworks and installations. He will tell us about his travels, field studies, as well as the Indigenous communities that inspire and influence his practice. In the second part, curator Jean-Hubert Martin will moderate a discussion with José Bedia, exploring the meaning of his work and its resonance with the exhibition.
