Description

The Indomitable Love of Eve Adams brings to life the incredible story of a woman with multiple identities: Polish, Jewish, anarchist, queer, and immigrant. In 1912, at the age of nineteen, Chawa Złoczewer left Poland for New York. After becoming Eva Kotchever and then Eve Adams, she became involved in the anarchist movement and emerged as a leading figure in the artistic and queer communities. She founded lesbian clubs in Chicago and New York and published Lesbian Love, the first book dedicated to love between women. This freedom led to her deportation from the United States. Deported to Europe, she died in Auschwitz before falling into obscurity. Part personal narrative, part political reflection, the show explores everyone’s right to find their place in the world and the responsibility we have toward one another. The show features French subtitles.
